As weird as it may sound to you, Kommeno is actually not a village… Then what is it?

It is a small peninsula on the east coast of the island and it is located in the bay of Gouvia. While a part of Kommeno is on the side of Gouvia the other one is in Dassia, so as you can imagine both of these villages are accessible to you in order to stroll around and discover them. 

Kommeno has many hotels and private villages with extraordinary views, since most of them are surrounded by trees and greenery which may feel like you are inside a thick forest… kind of like being in a movie we would say.

Kommeno has a couple of taverns that serve traditional food. In its quiet and sandy beaches you will also find restaurants, snack bars and of course hotels where you can enjoy many dishes and relax after a long day at the beach. 


The main beach is awarder with a blue flag, it is organized with sun loungers and umbrellas while it also has many facilities regarding water sports. Other than that in Gouvia and in Dassia you will find even more options as well as supermarkets, cafes and bakeries. In the south of Kommeno there is the Ipapandi Church which is a mini copy of the famous Monastery of Vlacherna. 


Near Kommeno you will also find Aqualand, a heaven to those who love waterslides and a perfect place for families. Just 20 minutes away is also Corfu Town with dozens of options on food, nightlife, shopping and museums.

The weather in Kommeno is really similar to the Mediterranean climate since it mostly has mild, wet winters and hot, dry summers. From June to September there are the hotter months with temperatures from 25 to 35 degrees. On the other hand winter time is from December to February with cooler temperatures such as 10 or 15 degrees. 

If you want to enjoy the crystal clear waters of the island, the summertime is the perfect season! Spring and autumn often have milder temperatures which are great for the exploration of Corfu and many outdoor activities.
